Welcome family, friends, cyber-sailors, and anyone else who has stumbled onto this page. Redwings is a Peterson 46 currently being sailed from Hong Kong to Camden, Maine in the United States, and someday onwards. We left Hong Kong in November 1997 and are heading slowly West. Update: We arrived on 11 July 2000 in Puerto Calero on the Canary Island of Lanzarote after a relatively fast three and a half day trip from Gibraltar (see Barcelona to Canary Islands). We have just "put the boat to bed" during a week of hanging out in Puerto Calero (see Winding Down in Lanzarote), and have headed back to Thailand for a few months of work before returning in early November to prepare the boat for the Atlantic Crossing. We have decided to participate in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers and will be departing with the fleet from Las Palmas Grand Canaria on 19 November and should arrive in the Carribean about three weeks later!

Its the 2nd of November and we are winding up at work in Bangkok. We'll be flying back to "Lanzagrotty" on Saturday and will be back sleeping on Redwings on Sunday the 6th. The boat has been hauled and the bottom painted while we were away as well as lots of other jobs (we hope!) We are looking forward to getting back to the cruising life soon! Start checking for updates more often over the next two months. Also, we've just added some pictures to the Lanzarote section. Have a look.

Recent History: After traveling from Italy via Menorca (see Italy to Spain), we arrived in Barcelona on 10 September, 1998, tied up the boat, and did not budge. We spent a great 1998/99 winter there (see Wintering in Spain) but then got a call in April 1999 to head back to Asia to help build a start up company with friends in Thailand (check out newthailand.com). One year later we are still working, but have negotiated a "three months on one month off" type of arranement which will hopefully allow us to keep sailing while at the same time bringing in a bit of cashola. Works for us at this point in life. We arrived back in Barcelona on 16 June 2000 to prepare the boat for the one-month trip to the Canary Islands (see Leaving Barcelona).
